Welcome to Rustic Red Fence, a site I finally started to share anything and everything creative in my life. First, let me start by telling you a bit about me. I am currently a stay at home mom—tried the whole working thing, but missed being able to interact with my two girls. Truth be said, they can sometimes drive me crazy, hence the reason why there might be some posts geared around what bottle of wine I have open at night. But for the most part, what you will find on this site is information on projects I am working on, be it in the house, the backyard, or for the kids, as well as some gardening, cooking, and everyday eating (the healthier the better, but sneaking cookies has been known to happen).
The name behind the site, Rustic Red Fence, I feel is the beginning of where the style for this site came from and plans to go. I painted my backyard fence before my oldest daughter was born and the more rustic it gets, the more character I think it brings to our yard, which I think has influenced my style tremendously. I enjoy taking old things and giving them new life—taking that old suitcase and giving it a new use as storage and décor in our living room to refinishing the bathroom cabinets in order to bring a new look into our home. I also enjoy planning parties, cooking for my family and friends, and working on craft projects with my kids. I hope to be able to share all these loves, as well as get feed back and ideas from those who visit the site.
At times, I might have some very drawn up instructions for projects or recipes, but other times I might just have pictures and a general description—the reason being is that at times, I don’t always follow recipes and instructions myself.
